Traveling Ventilation Systems
A Traveling Ventilation system is an advanced solution for creating a high-quality, comfortable, and safe working environment for overhead crane operators. By using a remote air handler, the system supplies pressurized, filtered, and temperature-controlled fresh air directly to the crane cab. This method is particularly effective in industrial environments with extreme heat, fumes, and other air contaminants.
How it works
The system works by drawing clean air from outside the building into a remote air handler unit. This unit filters, cools, or heats the air as needed. The conditioned air is then sent under pressure to a Supply Duct that runs parallel to the crane's runway. As the crane moves, it pulls a trolley that releases a constant volume of fresh air into the crane's ducting, which pressurizes the cab and electrical panels. This design ensures a continuous supply of 100% outside conditioned air to the cab, providing the highest possible air quality for the operator, regardless of the contaminants present in the surrounding atmosphere. This approach has been proven to eliminate contaminants like carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide from the crane cab.
System Options
- Fresh Air Supply for Crane Cabs
For environments where high temperatures are not a major concern, this system can simply pressurize the cab with filtered outdoor air, providing a comfortable working environment without the need for air conditioning equipment. A duct heater can be added for winter use. This economical setup can also be used to pressurize stationary pulpits and crane electrical panels, keeping them free of dust and contaminants. - Air Conditioning for Crane Cabs
For locations with extreme heat or fume conditions, the full air conditioning system provides a positive method to create and maintain comfortable and hygienic conditions.
Key Benefits:
- Superior Air Quality: Provides the highest quality air to the crane operator.
- Cost-Effective: Eliminates the need for complex, cab-mounted equipment that is difficult to maintain in harsh conditions.
- Reliable Performance: Ensures a comfortable and safe environment for the operator year-round, 24 hours a day.
- Protects Equipment: Can be used to pressurize crane electrical panels, eliminating control delays caused by high heat and dust.
